3. If you quit because of your environment, you will find yourself to blame in the end because nobody holds fault on the failure to your success except you, so be wise.

How to be a better music producer in your area in Nigeria, its not easy to really stand out in Nigeria where the more you think of a new idea, the more you see it has already been done by another producer, but I am going to open your eyes to few tips that might help you change and better your work and also sound uniquely different.

1. Always get your packs from strange and unpopular websites. This will help you in the sense that, your beats instruments will always sound different because a lot of people don’t know where you got your packs from, and will not be able to beats exactly like yours.

2. Rebrand a foreign old instrumental to Nigerian format in your own way, I am not asking you to copyright, I am asking you to let the instrumental be your inspiration, this will sound really professional, and also, a lot of people won’t get the source of the inspiration behind the beat and it will sound different and good, just make sure you take your time to make the beat.

3. Watch and read tutorials a lot; knowledge about music production is wide, the more you read and watch, the more you know to add to your own knowledge. Use search engines to search and watch tutorials online. Example is YouTube, with YouTube; you will get a lot of video answers to your questions.

4. Take time to listen to yourself, take more time to listen and master your beats, for them to sound better on wherever or whatever audio equipments they find themselves on.

PUNCH LINE

A punch line is a line in a rap verse or music that means at least more than 2 things or 2meanings at the same time, making your audience wonder in different dimension. Example: cause you are standing outside doesn’t make you outstanding… it means, because he is standing outside doesn’t make him unique. And it also means because he is standing outside doesn’t make him Out Standing, because since you are a dope rapper, you can do the magic of a house over his head. Punch lines are always technical, so I recommend it for the intelligent.

WORDPLAY

Wordplays are the easiest to use, it’s simply using words that sound alike and meaningful to impress your audience. Example; my lines go easy like ABC & when I punch it you go dey ask if A be C… It’s as easy as that.

The reason why many upcoming acts in music are not getting a hit song might not be lack of promotion or good producer, but might be the mistakes they make while recording. Here are few things to avoid while recording that might help you, make your work sound better and professional.

1. Your introduction(intro) should not be too congested, while some songs don’t even need introduction, it’s not a must you shout your name, your producer’s name or other people you want to give credits to, just simply study your song, d concept and know the kind of intro that beat fits in.

2. Using too many unnecessary backups, its normal to back up your chorus & verses but always try to use them where needed so as to avoid your song from being too noisy.

3. Making your song too lengthy; there is a general say that says, leave the ovation is still high, make your message clear and quick, making lengthy songs might get boring to the listener. At most 4mins is enough unless it’s a Cypher or you have more people on the track.

4. Don’t take recording too serious; when you look too serious recording, you might end up recording a good song, but the lyrics are just too hard for the listener to comprehend.

5. Take your time to rehearse before coming to the studio, don’t just hop in without a plan, you might be unlucky to record a song that makes no sense.
